The council has a very limited fund to provide help to Knowsley residents with food and/or fuel in an emergency situation that is unforeseen, or which could not have been avoided, or where there is a potential risk to the health and safety of you or your family.

From April 2013, for those renting in the Social Rented Sector (Housing Associations), the amount of housing benefit that can be paid to you will be limited depending on the size of your family and the number of bedrooms you are considered to need.

Depending on your circumstances, you can get help to cover the cost of a deposit on a rented property with the Knowsley bond scheme. Help paying rent or mortgage

If you are renting privately and think you may be entitled to help with the cost of your rent, you can apply for Local Housing Allowance (LHA).
