Knowsley students are celebrating as they receive their GCSE results today.

Kirkby High School also delivered improvements with provisional results indicating a 7.8% increase in the number of students gaining five GCSEs at grades A* - C including English and Maths.

Meanwhile, the number of students passing GCSE English at grades C or above at Knowsley Park in Prescot was 67.3% - an increase of 17% on 2014.  And All Saints in Kirkby achieved their best ever results in Maths, with 59.5% of students gaining a C or above.

Cllr Gary See, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services at Knowsley Council, said: “My congratulations go out to all the students as they collect their results today and my thanks also to all those school staff, governors and of course the parents and carers who have worked extremely hard over the past two years to support them.

“I wish each and every pupil the best of luck as they move on to their next steps in education, employment or training.”

Provisional results for the borough overall are still being collated and will be released in due course.
