Local artwork on display

Knowsley’s Open Art Exhibition opened its doors this week, showcasing the creativity across the borough.

Over 200 exhibits are on display from people who live, work, study or volunteer in Knowsley.

A range of drawings, paintings, photography and other forms of 2D artwork on display.

A special preview evening took place on Thursday, 4 December attended by over 100 people, including the local artists themselves.  Throughout the evening, artists talked about their inspiration for their artwork why this exhibition is important to them.

The exhibition is available at Kirkby Gallery in the Kirkby Centre, Norwich Way from 1 December through to 14 February 2015.

Cllr Eddie Connor, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Community and Culture, said “We have now been holding this prestigious event in the Knowsley calendar for 14 years and year on year, the standard of work gets higher and higher and I am impressed with the wealth of talent we have here in the borough.  This is a great opportunity for new and established local artists to exhibit professionally.” 

Kirkby Gallery is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 12.30pm on Saturday.
