Merseyside and Cheshire Cancer Network’s iVAN is once again hitting the streets in Knowsley, helping to raise awareness and early detection of cancer.

Cancer specialists will be on-hand to identify symptoms, refer residents to their GP, offer support as well as raising awareness of the issue.

The van will be in a number of locations across the borough between 10am and 4pm:-

Tuesday, 8 April  - Tesco, Prescot

Wednesday, 23 April -  Halewood Shopping Centre

Monday, 12 May - Stockbridge Village (between the health centre and shops)

Friday, 23 May - Whiston Hospital

No appointment is necessary and people can talk to one of the Cancer Information Specialists or a Cancer Specialist Nurse face-to-face. It’s free and completely confidential.

Matthew Ashton, Director of Public Health in Knowsley said “We want to ensure that cancer advice and support is accessible within our communities, as well as through your GP.  The iVAN is the ideal way to help us engage with residents and pass on vital information about the signs and symptoms to look out for.  A visit to the iVAN really can save lives.”
