Published on: Friday, 11-March-2016

Liverpool ONE will be transformed into a showcase for apprentice opportunities during National Apprenticeship Week (14-18 March).

From 9am – 8pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Paradise Place will be alive with music, entertainment, performances and demonstrations.

With big names like Jaguar Land Rover, New Look, Unilever and celebrity chef Rustie Lee – it really is not to be missed.

If you’re interested in learning more about apprenticeships you will have the opportunity to talk to employers, colleges, training providers and careers advisors. They will be able to help with any questions you have and offer advice on the different apprenticeship routes for these fields of work.

There will be different themes for each day, so there will be something to interest everyone:

  • Hair, beauty and make up demonstrations from City of Liverpool College, Interserve and others
  • Live performances, singing and music from local artists Megan Warren, The Ambition, Blood ‘n Soul and Brit  Humphries

Wednesday 16 March – focus on hospitality, catering and the Visitor Economy

  • Catering demonstrations and free samples throughout the day from Hugh Baird, Wirral Met and Riverside College

Thursday 17 March – highlighting service and manufacturing opportunities

The free event will run from Tuesday 15 March to Thursday 17 March and anyone who is interested in learning more about apprenticeships is invited to come along.

Cllr Ian Maher, Liverpool City Region Lead for Employment and Skills said: “Apprenticeships play a crucial role in the Liverpool City Region and have a positive impact on individuals, businesses and the wider economy. We want to celebrate this during National Apprenticeship Week and also create a real buzz around apprenticeships and the exciting opportunities that are available for our residents and local organisation to get involved with.

I hope that people take the opportunity to come along and ‘have a go’ of the great activities on offer and find out more about the many benefits of apprenticeships.”

At the end of National Apprenticeships week, the new Apprenticeship Hub Strategy for The Liverpool City Region will be launched at the Crowne Plaza hotel on Friday 18 March.
