Knowsley Council has joined with local authorities across the North West and alcohol campaign Drink Wise to launch a new campaign ‘Let’s Look Again at Alcohol’.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of the negative affect someone else’s drinking can have on the lives of children.

It also promotes awareness of the harm young people are doing to themselves through their own alcohol consumption.

As part of the campaign a film has been released to help encourage people to think about what can be done to protect young people from alcohol.

Matthew Ashton, Director of Public Health for Knowsley, said:

“We have come together with councils across the region to encourage people to look again at alcohol and inspire them to start thinking about what more we can all do to help protect children from the affects of drinking.

“It’s also an opportunity to raise awareness of the amount of alcohol some young people are drinking. A situation which is leading to an increased numbers of people dying from liver disease in their twenties.”
