MPE Limited, based in the UK, is a world leading manufacturer of high performance EMC/EMP filters and capacitor products for supply to the automotive, defence, telecoms and other professional industries.
The Manufacturing Apprentice will be responsible for production and electrical testing of product. Production includes set-up, maintenance, and optimisation of all manufacturing equipment in assembly operations, interpreting electrical and mechanical engineering drawings and manufacturing and test documentation. The job holder will be expected to support production supervision regard optimising production runs. The job holder is expected to support other manufacturing areas and tasks as directed.

Key responsibilities for the role:

Must be able to complete an apprenticeship framework in: 

  • Setup, maintenance and optimisation of all manufacturing and test equipment
  • Building and testing product
  • Troubleshooting operational issues such as material alternatives
  • Development and improvement of equipment and processes
  • Delivery of improvement projects
  • Minimise downtime of equipment in line with agreed KPIs and metrics (Lean OEE)
  • Develop and manage tools and ancillary stocks
  • Required to undertake a Apprenticeship framework with North West Training Council (Bootle)

Key skills to be successful in your application are:

  • Good level of English and Maths ( Grade A-C 4/5 in both subjects )
  • Desire to work in the manufacturing environment
  • NVQ2 in Engineering / working towards  a relevant qualification
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Able to follow health and safety procedures

Location: Knowsley Industrial Estate
Contracted hours: 37 per week (Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm; Friday 8am - 1pm) 
Hourly rate of pay: Above average
