Caretaker Apprentice - Villages Housing - REF: KA058

The successful applicant will be taking the post of Caretaker Apprentice for High-Rise Accommodation, within the Caretaking and Cleaning section and responsible to the Team Leader - Caretaking and Cleaning Manager.

The post is with Villages Housing; their vision and purpose is: "To be ‘More than just a landlord’ creating an environment for communities to flourish. To provide high quality homes and services – creating sustainable communities."

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • To be an integral member of the Caretaking and Cleaning team in the provision of a comprehensive cleaning and facilities management service to the high rise accommodation  facilities and other properties on Stockbridge Village when required
  • To be aware of the COSHH requirements and risk assessments appropriate to this role
  • Facilities Management including building risk and fire risk assessments; testing alarms and emergency lighting according to prescribed frequency
  • Under take regular health and safety checks on high rise properties within appropriate timescales and ensure that remedial actions are taken as required and appropriate records maintained.
  • A point of contact for residents

Key skills required to be successful in this role:

  • Ability to work in a positive and helpful manner to deliver services and to carry out all duties professionally and efficiently
  • Ability to undertake cleaning duties to the specified standard;
  • Must be able to prioritise workloads, to meet deadlines and ensure that all objectives are met;
  • Able to keep records of work areas cleaned and report any health and safety or repair issues observed when carrying out cleaning duties
  • Able to work in an organised and methodical way in a demanding environment
