Apprentice Home Sales - First Ark - REF: K032

The First Ark Group is one of the largest providers of social housing in the North West of England. Knowsley Housing Trust is part of the First Ark Group based in Knowsley.

They manage over 14,000 high quality homes at affordable rents and deliver a variety of related services to customers across the borough. They are recruiting apprentices to support the delivery of the service.

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • Respond in a helpful manner to incoming customer enquiries by email, telephone or other means about our homes for sale through shared ownership
  • Provide customers with information, marketing materials and updates
  • Update the customer sales database and sales files ensuring documents are stored electronically to enable easy reporting and document retrieval
  • Assist in administering applications and collating supporting documents for shared ownership applications
  • Administer property reservations and assist purchasers through the purchase process, liaising with solicitors or other third party partners where appropriate
  • Carry out a range of administrative tasks to support the Right to Buy & Leasehold Team including filing documents and sending out applications for Right to Buy and Right to Acquire sales
  • Administer invoices and raise orders for services on our Financial systems
  • Assist in the maintenance of marketing information and websites in relation to property sales
  • Proactively support the team with promotional campaigns and attendance at open days
  • Update systems on sale completion with handover information and update utility providers and Council Tax
  • Must be able to complete an apprenticeship framework in Business Administration (NVQ)

  • ICT skills, including MS office, to support maintaining databases, customer relationship management systems and digital communications
  • Health & Safety – you will be expected to always follow company guidelines around Health and Safety and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
  • Equality & Diversity - you will be expected to carry out all duties in line with the Group’s commitment to equality and diversity
  • Data Protection – you will be expected to ensure compliance with all legal obligations concerning the protection of data concerning employees, customers and third parties
  • Three GCSEs Grade C and above (or predicted) grades 4-9 including Maths and English

Location: Prescot
Contracted hours: 35 hours per week
Hourly rate of pay: National Minimum Wage

Top tips for filling in the application form:

  • Research the employer offering the job. Find out what they do and what the job involves.
  • Show the employer you understand their business by referring to them in your application, for example: "I am interested in developing skills in building maintenance and noticed you were successful in winning a large contract to maintain houses for a large housing association."
  • Always read the job description for the job you are applying for before you start to complete the application form to make sure the information you include is relevant to the job.
  • Before you start filling in your form, always check the instructions for filling in the application form.
  • Make sure you take your time. Don’t rush as you may make mistakes!
  • Prepare a draft of the application form before transferring the information to the actual form. If you’re filling it in by hand, make sure you don’t make mistakes on the original form for the employer.
  • Make sure any writing is neat and easy to read, and check your spelling.
  • Answer all questions and fill in all the boxes/spaces.
  • If there are gaps in your employment history, say what you were doing during that time. If you've have never had a job, you could include examples such as voluntary work, or involvement with outside clubs or organisations.
  • Make sure you sell your skills; this could also include things you have developed outside work such as interests and hobbies. This is an opportunity for you to promote yourself to the employer and is your opportunity to explain to the employer why they should employ you!
  • Before you send off your application form, take a copy of your form, so you have this to look over if you get an interview.
