Company overview:

"The company owns and hires out specialised mini 'spider' cranes and other associated equipment mainly into the construction industry, where in most cases it assists in the installation of glazed panels typically in high-rise city-centre buildings. We also offer Contract Lifts where we design and carry out the lifts using our own fully qualified and experienced operators and lift supervisors.

The company is profitable and turns over £5m per year, and operates from two sites, Knowsley (HQ) and Heathrow. We employ 32 people currently.

A new owner has recently taken the business over, and we have started an ambitious program of change and improvement. The employees are genuinely excited by the scale and pace of changes being delivere. The company has plans for growth through quality service and equipment, and opening up new markets.
I, the MD, am really very open in terms of how this person may progress. This admin role could also include elements of finance in the daily tasks for example if a successful person has drive and wants to head off into finance, then I would support that. Key responsibilities for the role:

  • Must be able to complete an apprenticeship Level 3 in Business Administration
  • Basic admin tasks, entering data into system, collation of information, etc
  • Emails and telephone communications, both internal and external
  • Collation of time-sheets for payroll
  • Dealing with daily mail/deliveries etc
  • Some cleaning and sanitising locally in the office (we employ contract cleaners)
  • Other basic duties as required

Key skills to be successful in your application:

  • Qualifications required/predicted Must have a minimum of Grade 4/C at GCSE in Maths and English
  • Numeracy
  • Good verbal skills / telephone manner
  • Computer literacy (ability to understand and work with a basic database/information system
  • Good attention to detail
  • Self confidence
  • Good skills on social media would definitely be of interest (Twitter, LinkedIn, Website Blogs etc.)
