Mission statement

Ways to Work is a local intelligence driven, comprehensive and integrated programme for young people and adults, designed to improve personal resilience and progress to sustainable employment incorporating our existing successful Youth Employment Gateway (YEG) programme.

Participants will access a suite of individually tailored products and services which will add value to mainstream provision, respond to employers needs and yield better outcomes. High quality information, advice and guidance will be available as well as transitional employment programmes and skills development.

Project description

The Ways to Work programme will work with people to help them into work through providing information, advice and guidance, work placements and targeted training. There will also be initiatives to specifically support vulnerable young people, and other vulnerable groups and people who are out of work. This provides a positive impact on our local communities, and the opportunity to gain employment, skills and training for participants. The programme will engage with over 4000 individuals over the lifetime of the programme, with the overall aim of supporting over 1000 people into sustainable employment.

The Knowsley ESF Ways to Work programme has secured nearly £9M funding to deliver the programme which is part-funded by the European Social Fund and Youth Employment Initiative. This is part of an overall Liverpool City Region Combined Authority programme, working alongside partner Merseyside local authorities.
