"Fowler’s Gardens Limited/Fowler Landscapes are a fast growing Landscape construction company. We are a close knit team, highly motivated in creating high quality landscape renovations and construction projects. This exciting opportunity will enable the candidate to complete a Level 2 Apprenticeship Landscape Operative supported by a friendly and helpful assessor. On the job training will be provided by qualified staff across a number of project sites. Off the job training is provided in our Kirkby based headquarters. As a company we encourage and support learning and encourage a hands on approach on working projects."
Key Responsibilities for the Role:
- Must be able to complete an apprenticeship framework in Landscape Operative.
- Arrive on site at specified time agreed with manager
- Wear uniform (provided t-shirts) and arrive with good attitude ready for the day
- No phones on site (breaks and lunchtime only)
- Maintain professional manner when on site (no bad language)
- Respect tools
- Meet with the team/agree with manager to be given objective for the day
- Remember that we are working to deadlines, working outdoors in all weathers
- Complete manual work in a fast paced environment
- Excavation digging out of gardens and moving waste with wheelbarrows
- Load and unload materials, tools and equipment
- Make wet cement mixes
- Fit sleeper stakes and sleepers
- Preparation of ground using Wacker plate
- Lay turf
- Learn to lay different types of paving with direction from Manager
Key skills to be successful in your application are :
- Qualifications required/predicted None-a keep manual worker is desired, be able to work on your feet completing manual duties 5 days per week
- Be able to use initiative, there are many tasks on a work site, there is always something to be done.
- Cleanliness-a clean and tidy site will be your responsibility on a daily basis
- Good time keeping
- Requirement to work at least one Saturday per month
- Keep up with the fast pace of the team to meet the objective of the day
Location: Kirkby Industrial Estate
Contracted hours: 35 hours per week
Hourly rate of pay: National Minimum wage for age
