The Governors of St Albert’s Catholic Primary School wish to appoint a Lead Learning Mentor (level 2). The successful candidate will be caring and empathetic, have high expectations of pupils, be highly committed, a team player and enthusiastic.
Learning mentors provide a complementary service to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of learners who require help in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential.  They work with a range of learners, but give priority to those who need the most help especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages.  The variety of issues covered is vast, ranging from punctuality, absence, behaviour, pupil well-being and mental health. 
The Lead Learning Mentor at St Albert’s will take a lead role and work alongside our Level 1 Learning Mentor. They will work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Officer and SENCo looking at safeguarding and Early Help. They will also take a lead role in supporting parents.

Candidates should:

  • Be committed, caring, patient and show great initiative

  • Have Learning Mentor experience and a proven track record of working with children

  • Have experience in various learning mentor support programmes

  • Be able to work closely with the Learning Mentor and Class Teachers

  • Be flexible, reliable and a consistent team player

  • Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Maths/numeracy and English/literacy.

  • Level 3 LDSS or equivalent qualification of working with young people.
