Draft Earlsfield Park Public Open Space Masterplan consultation

The draft Earlsfield Public Open Space Masterplan has been produced by Knowsley Council for two existing public open spaces known locally as Oak Plantation and Lord Derby Memorial Playing Fields.

The improvement of these spaces will be provided thanks to a significant Section 106 contribution from developers of the wider housing and business development known as Earlsfield Park, on Knowsley Lane, Huyton, along with external funding to be secured by the council.

The draft Masterplan:

  • Sets a vision and objectives for the comprehensive, high quality development of the site
  • Sets out the current context and features of the site
  • Outlines the design framework that informs the proposed investment in the POS site
  • Describes proposals for the development of the POS to raise the quality, functionality and public benefit of the site
  • Sets out the proposed delivery process and timescales for the development of the POS site

Plans for the regeneration of over 12 hectares of public open space as part of a major development in Huyton are being shared with the community in order to gather comments and feedback.

Public Consultation

The five week public consultation on the draft Masterplan is a chance for local people to take a look at how the woodland and sporting facilities might look in the future. The consultation runs from Monday 3 December 2018 to 5pm on Friday 4 January 2019

As part of the consultation a public drop-in event on the draft Masterplan will be held. During this event, council officers will be on hand to explain the proposals, answer your questions and record feedback.
This event will be held at SPACE Centre, St Columba's Primary School, Hillside Road, Huyton, L36 8BL on Monday 10 December from 3.30pm to 7pm

Following the public consultation period, responses received will be reviewed and any necessary amendments made to the draft Masterplan. It will then be considered by Knowsley Council for approval. If approved, it will be used to determine any planning applications for development within the area.
