Bid to provide council services

Under the Community Right to Challenge , certain groups can express an interest in bidding to run a particular council service.

Community Right to Challenge helps communities engage with, influence and potentially take responsibility for services which are important to them.

We welcome the opportunity for groups to submit their ideas about how services can be run differently or better.

Who can bid to run services

Voluntary agencies, community groups, charities, parish and town councils or groups of two or more council employees can express an interest. If the expression of interest is accepted, a competitive procurement exercise will then take place involving all other interested parties.

How to bid for services

We’ll be inviting ideas and expressions of interest when the commissioning plan process is in place. Knowsley Council is working towards being a commissioning council during 2013/14.

The Localism Act 2011 gives full details about Community Right to Challenge.
