Welcome to Your Council

Review of polling districts and places
The council has carried out a review of the polling districts and places used in the borough. The aim of the review is to make sure that all polling stations are as accessible as possible, and that we are using the most reasonable facilities for voting as are practicable.
We invited people to comment during July and August 2007 and as a result some proposals for changes were made. The review found that the majority of polling places were still the best available, and in those cases no changes were proposed.
However, there were some areas where it is was proposed to
use a different building which would be more accessible to a wider
range of users.
The recommendations followed a report by the Returning Officer (the
council officer legally responsible for the running of elections)
on existing and proposed polling stations. The recommendations were
subsequently passed by Council.
You can download a copy of the report which went to Council on the 7th November 2007 from the attachments box below.
