The Knowsley Safeguarding Children Board is the statutory organisation responsible for:

• co-ordinating what is done by organisations in Knowsley to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and
• ensuring it is done effectively

The Board brings together representatives of each of the main agencies responsible for promoting children’s welfare and helping to protect children from abuse and neglect.

It is responsible for developing, monitoring and reviewing child protection policies, procedures and practice within Knowsley, and for providing training for staff in all agencies across the borough who work with children and families.

The Board provides information and advice on safeguarding for professionals, parents and carers and children and young people.
