Big changes are planned for Knowsley as a new borough-wide approach to improve neighbourhoods and quality of life for residents is underway. Halewood is the first area to be targeted with the 'Pride' programme.

'Halewood Pride' aims to work with residents to uncover and understand the problems within the local community and work out solutions.

The programme is being led by the Knowsley Partnership which includes the council, police, Knowsley Housing Trust, Primary Care Trust, partner organisations and private voluntary and community sectors in Knowsley.

The new changes will help the council to:

• respond to local priorities which may be different from one area to the next
• listen to residents more and involve them in the design of services
• deliver value for money services

What's happening?

As we kick start the campaign you will see lots of extra activity and clean up work happening in your area.

Neighbourhood Pride Teams are helping to transform services and regenerate the area. The teams are operating in Halewood, rather than delivering one service throughout the whole of Knowsley.

The specialised Neighbourhood Pride Teams will deliver real improvements to provide safe, clean and strong communities.

How you can get involved

We want to involve the local community in Halewood to find out what the specific priorities are in your local area. We will be setting up meetings for you to get involved and have your say.

Local Area Partnership Boards and Area Forums will be set up to ensure that the community is involved every step of the way.

These meetings will allow more detailed involvement on the issues that matter to you in your community and provide you with an opportunity to influence local decision-making.
