Access Tools

Residents and Businesses in the Knowsley Borough can now view their Council Tax and/or Non Domestic Rates balance online via the Council’s website.

Registration

Access to this information is strictly controlled and can only be accessed by using a Personal Identity Number and a Password.

In order to obtain a Personal Identity Number and Password, customers must register their details, in person, at the One Stop Shops in either Kirkby or Huyton.

Proof of identity

A key part of the application process is for you to provide Proof of identity before a Personal Identity Number and Password is issued.

The following list shows the types of information that you should bring with you to the One Stop Shops in order to prove your eligibility and to complete the registration process. We may need to see several of these documents:

• Valid passport
• Birth certificate
• Driving Licence
• A recent gas or electricity bill containing your name and the address of the property
• A UK residence permit
• EC identity card
• A Council Benefit letter containing your name and the address of the property
• National Insurance number
• Marriage Certificate
• Tenancy Agreement
• Benefit book
• Personal Bank statement

On satisfactory production of proof of identity the Customer Support Officer will issue you a written document stating your 6 digit Personal Identity Number and an 8 character Password.

Personal User Identity : 6 numbers (e.g. 123456)

Password : 8 characters (made up of upper and lower case letters and numbers)

Privacy

Once you have successfully completed the registration process and been issued with you Personal User Identity and Password, it is important that you keep them secure and not to let anyone else see them. If you lose, or can’t remember, your details (either the Personal User Identity or the Password), you will have to register again in person at the Council’s One Stop Shop.
