How to pay your council tax
You can pay your council tax by any of
the following methods:
Direct debit
By far the easiest and most convenient method of payment. The payment dates available are 5th, 15th, 24th and the end of each month. If you wish to pay by Direct Debit you can:- Download the 'Direct Debit request form' from the attachments box at the bottom of this page, and complete and return to us.
- Request a paper version of the form from the address at the bottom of this page or by telephoning 0151 443 4476.
- Set up the instruction online. Please note that if you wish to set up a Direct Debit instruction online you must comply with the following regulations:
- you must be the account holder and therefore the payer.
- you are the only person required to authorise debits from the account.

Post your payment to the Director of Finance, Admin Section using the address below. Cheques and Postal Orders should be crossed and made payable to 'Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley'. Please quote your Council Tax Account Number with your remittance. If you require a receipt for a payment by cheque please send your account intact.Online payment
