Draft consultation on Knowsley's Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS)

Knowsley Council, as a Lead Local Flood Authority, have a legal duty under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 to 'develop, maintain, apply and monitor' a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS) for its area.  

The purpose of this consultation is to gather views on the draft LFRMS for Knowsley. 
 
The purpose of the LFRMS is to provide an overview and assessment of local flood risk in Knowsley, setting out objectives and measures for how the Council will manage and reduce local flood risk.  It will enable Knowsley Council to deliver better local flood risk management, both now and into the future and help all those involved to better understand local flood risk as well as to manage that risk in ways that balance social, environmental and economic needs.
