Admissions to Knowsley Schools and Centres for Learning:
September 2013 entry (School Year 2013/14)

The local authority and the governors of schools and centres for learning are currently considering the admission arrangements for pupils entering nursery, reception, Y7 and Y12 in September 2013.  This may seem early, but it is to allow time for discussion and deciding on the final version. Information booklets are published in September 2012 with the final policies.

Consultation on the proposed policies and admission numbers is taking place until 28 February 2012.

Parents of school-age children and relevant pre-schoolers and community groups who may have an interest are invited to submit their views on the proposals.

On this website you will find the following documents relating to community and controlled schools and centres for learning:

In addition, certain voluntary aided primary and secondary schools or centres for learning (Catholic and/or most Church of England schools) are consulting on their own individual policies, these should be available on the individual school website. Where these have been made available to the authority they can be viewed on this website. Their policies will be available from the school/centre.

(N.B. some schools will not be consulting as they are making no changes from last year and had no challenges to their policy when they consulted then.  Their policy is printed in the 2012 admission booklets.)

Also available to view on this webpage are two admission schemes. These give the practical arrangements – dates to apply by, when allocations are done. (In many cases the dates are set nationally.) One refers to applying to primary schools, one to secondary schools, both for 2013/14. A file of policies will be available for viewing at the address below.
