Making us greener...and cleaner
You may recall back in the summer of 2008, a new grey bin
recycling scheme was introduced across the borough. Since its
introduction, the recycling rate has improved by 98 per cent and we
have already exceeded our targets for the year.
What you might not know is that the work of Scrutiny Committes
helped to make that happen and they are continuing to work hard to
make our borough greener and cleaner. In early 2009 a further
set of recommendations put forward by the Economic Development and
Environment Committee were agreed by Cabinet with more improvements
planned in the coming year.
