Scrutiny Committees - what they have done for you
Helping to make our streets safer
Working with partner agencies, the Safer, Stronger Scrutiny
Committee looked at preventative and long term measures to tackle
some of the issues surrounding weapons crime amongst young
people. Three evidence taking sessions were organised
involving youngsters from across the borough, officers from the
council and police representatives including the senior officers
and the Chief Constable himself. From this, the committee was
able to establish a series of recommendations for Cabinet. These
were approved and work has begun on tackling these key issues.
