Road and pathway maintenance
The Highway Service is responsible for
maintaining 400 kilometres of
roadways, including the following:
- Gully emptying
- Culvert clearance
- Repairs to signs
- Tarmac patching
- Defect repairs
- Resurfacing work
- Overlays
- Reconstruction
- Widening of highways
The service also provides a 24hour
emergency service that responds to
situations such as dangerous potholes,
footways and road traffic accidents.
