This order is made by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council ("the authority") under section 129A of the Highways Act 1980 because it appears to the Authority that a Gating Order would be beneficial for tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in the Moorcroft Road area of Huyton.

junction with Moorcroft Road between numbers 35 and 36 Moorcroft
Road and continuing in a north-easterly direction to its junction

Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley will be restricted at all times by
the erection of a barrier at each end of the passageway
- The Authority are satisfied that:
(a) Premises adjoining or adjacent to the higway are affected by crime and/or anti-social behaviour;
(b) The existence of the highway is facilitating the persistant commission of criminal offences and/or anti-social behaviour;
(c) It is in all circumstances expedient to make this Order for the purposes of reducing crime and/or anti-social behaviour. - The alternative route for pedestrians is via Moorcroft Road,
Wastlebridge Road and Hillside Road and vice versa.
- The occupiers of the properties numbered 35 and 36, Moorcroft
Road and 7 and 9 Hillside Avenue are excluded from the effects of
the restriction referred to in paragraph 1 above.

undertakers with equipment situated over, along or in the highway,
council officers and other persons authorised in writing by the
council for the purposes of carrying out works of repair or

from the provisions of this Order.
- The person responsible for maintaining the barriers is Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, Department of Regeneration and Neighbourhoods, Yorkon Building, Archway Road, Huyton, Knowsley, Merseyside, L36 9UX.
If any person desires to question the validity of this order on the ground that the council had no power to make it, or any requirement of part 8A of the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court within six weeks from the date which the order is made.
