Welcome to Transport and streets

Traffic calming
There are a number of different
traffic calming measure features used
to reduce the speed at which vehicles
are driven.
Road humps
These are very effective at reducing speeds, where very low speeds are desired and reasonable, and noise and fumes are not a major concern.Speed tables
These are flat-topped speed humps often constructed with brick or other textured materials on the flat section. They are effective at locations where low speeds are desired but a somewhat smooth ride is needed for larger vehicles.Speed cushions
These are a form of road hump, occupying part of the traffic lane in which it is installed. Speed cushions are generally located in pairs and arranged transversely across the carriageway. They are effective at reducing speeds of cars, but cause less interference to larger vehicles such as buses and emergency vehicles. The above measures have a significant effect in reducing accidents and also bring environmental benefits to an area.
