Road safety education
Knowsley’s Road Safety team are dedicated to promoting Road Safety through the education of our children from nursery age up-wards and to making the roads we drive on safer for all.
We run the following road safety programmes:

- Recognition of danger
- Understanding of traffic directions; and
- Appreciation of the visibility problems associated with parked cars etc.
Kerb Craft
A practical pedestrian training scheme for children aged 5-7years. The skills that the children are taught under the Kerbcraft programme are:- Choosing a safer place to cross (4 sessions)
- Crossing safely near parked cars; (4 sessions) and
- Dealing safely with junctions (6 sessions)
The Kerbcraft training scheme is dependent on adult volunteer trainers to help to teach children these life-preserving skills. If you feel that you are able to spare an hour or two during the school week, please contact Kerbcraft on 0151 443 2227.
