Millbrook Park Millennium Green

Millbrook Park Millennium Green is a popular,
welcoming haven for both people and wildlife. With an
interesting heritage, Millbrook Park Millennium Green is an area of
natural beauty and host to a range of habitats.
The park consists of a variety of habitats
which include:
- Large areas of mown
grassland extending along each side of the brook. These have been
allowed to develop as wet grassland habitats.
- A pond situated towards the north of the
park which is home to a range of flora and fauna and is used as an
educational tool for workshops held by the Kirkby Ranger.
- Woodland areas have been created to
increase biodiversity.
The Park has a Millennium Feature date line
extending from the Hall Lane entrance to the access point under the
railway viaduct on Boyes Brow. The feature includes mosaic
designs inlaid into the floor along the footpath depicting Kirkby’s
history from Neolithic times, the Anglo-Saxon and Viking eras,
recent farming and industrial development, changes in the natural
environment and future aspirations for Kirkby.

How to get there
The green is situated on Old Hall Lane,
Kirkby, Knowsley, Merseyside. It is easily accessible from
Kirkby Town Centre, Kirkby Row, Tower Hill and Old Hall
Estate.
By rail: The nearest station is Kirkby. For timetables please
contact Merseytravel on 0151 236 7676.
By road: From M57 junction 6 take Valley Road from the roundabout,
signposted Kirkby Town Centre. Continue to the next
roundabout and turn left into Kirkby Row. Take the first right
into Old Hall Lane. The Viking Ship entrance is on the left before
the church.
