Two Dogs book

Image of old Huyton

Two Dogs is a compilation of eight residents' memories of growing up in Huyton from the 1940s to the 1970s.

The authors, all in their seventies and eighties, launched the book at Huyton Library on June 30, 2010.

The group, all of whom live in sheltered accommodation at Caldwell Centre on Tarbock Road, regularly shared stories of their childhood memories of the borough and decided they wanted to write their stories down after being inspired by the book’s founder, Amanda Meaghan.

An exploration and celebration of Knowsley’s heritage, the book showcases vivid stories of growing up during the war, old-fashioned traditions, childhood games and songs and fascinating facts about ‘long-lost’ Huyton.
