Knowsley Plaque Scheme

Knowsley has a rich and diverse heritage and has more than its fair share of historic buildings and famous people. The Knowsley Plaque Scheme will give local people the opportunity to nominate and commemorate those things they feel are worth celebrating.

Criteria

  • The 10 year rule. A proposed person must either have been dead for 10 years or be over 100 years old.
  • The person should have made an important contribution to society.
  • They should be well known.
  • They should deserve recognition.
  • Buildings or sites can also be nominated but must be of special historical interest.

The scheme will be launched in 2009, so watch the local press for details. Nomination forms will be available around the borough for you to nominate someone or something that you feel strongly about.  Anyone can propose a nomination.

The number of plaques we are able to erect will be limited therefore all the nominations will be displayed locally so voting can take place.

Vote for you favourite Knowsley celebrity.
