Heritage walks

A series of heritage walks have been developed in six of the
borough’s conservation areas. The heritage walks were researched
and written in partnership with the Merseyside Guides who brought
their skills and experience to the project.
The walks take between forty minutes to one-and-a-half
hours and all focus on the rich history of the area.
Included are both contemporary events as well as the historic,
some of which might well be new to you whilst other information
will be more familiar.
All the walks are available in a free publication entitled
‘Knowsley Heritage Walks’ and they can be found in your local
library and One Stop Shop. You can also call 151 443 2283 if you
would like a copy posting. The publication contains all six walks
with a map of the route and information about each stopping point.
Also included are some rare archive images of each area, courtesy
of Knowsley Council Archive Service.
