Barmy Britain is back with a brand new show full of crazy new characters and rude new rulers from Britain's barmy past! We all want to meet people from history. The trouble is everyone is dead!

Will King John be a martyr for the Magna Carta? Party with the Puritans and light up your life with the great fire of London! Clap along with crazy King Charles! Will you see eye to eye with Admiral Nelson? Does the Duke of Wellington get the boot? Vomit with the vile Victorians and make a great escape from the First World War!

The Sports and Cultural awards is once again taking place at Knowsley Leisure and Culture Park.  The prestigious awards ceremony recognises and celebrates some of the borough’s most talented and committed individuals who have made a contribution to sport and culture. 

The awards ceremony will start at 6pm with a buffet for all invited guests/nominees and the event will also include some live entertainment to be announced shortly.

We’re off to see… A wizardly wonderful Pantomime adventure, The Wizard of Oz.

Join Dorothy Gale as she befriends a brainless Scarecrow, a loveable Tin Man and the cowardly Lion on their quest to thwart the evil powers of the Wicked Witch of the West. With a little help from Glinda the Good Fairy and the almighty and powerful Wizard of Oz, good is sure to conquer evil, featuring an all-star cast to announced, this Christmas treat is fun for all the family from 2 to 102

Packed with great songs, brilliant dance routines and plenty of laughter for all the family, it’s going to be the best value family-friendly pantomime in town!

Soap opera star "Chris Simmons" will be heading up the cast for this year's Christmas pantomime. Chris who is best known for pounded the beat on ITV's The Bill for 10 years as DC Mickey Webb will be playing the part of the Scarecrow. Chris is also known for his roles in EastEnders as one of Kat Moon’s lovers and in CBBC's Tracy Beaker as Gerry.

CBBC star "Lucinda Rhodes" best known for her roles in Children's televisions programmes The Floogals, Cavegirl, Dreamteam and My Parents are Aliens will be playing the role of Glinda the Good Fairy.

Liverpool's own musical theatre star "Rebecca Cummins" will be playing the role of Dorothy direct after returning to the UK from appearing on Carnival cruise ships.

From the team that has produced the last three Pantomimes at Knowsley Leisure & Culture Park "Peter Pan" (Easter 2015), “Cinderella” (2014) and “Aladdin” (2012).

  • At the venue (where stated).  On some occasions, tickets may also be available to purchase at other Knowsley leisure centres.

Concessions and ticket offers

Concessionary rates for tickets are available for some events. In general concessions and offers will be available for the following:

  • Young people under 16 years of age
  • Senior Citizens
  • All Active Knowsley members with a gold, silver or swimming membership (only available by purchasing over the phone or at the site
  • Disabled adults/Carers

Concessionary rates for some events may differ e.g. for Mersey Tigers events. Please refer to their guidelines for these details

Ticket offers

  • Group offer: buy ten tickets and get one free
  • Family ticket (where applicable): two adults and two children under 16.
