What is Flickr?
Millions of people use the Flickr website to manage and share
their photographs online.
Flickr allows us to share our photographs with you in fun and
interesting ways:
- Read captions
- Comment on, discuss and add your memories to images
- Tag pictures to add more information on people and
places
Flickr lets you view photographs in a slideshow within your
internet browser and you can also subscribe to our
photostream. Each time you log in to your Flickr
account, our latest photographs will pop up on your homepage.
Before you can comment on, tag photographs and subscribe
to photostreams, you need to create a
Yahoo account. When you have created your account,
you can also upload your own photos to share with your friends.
Tagging, adding keywords describing the content of an image,
means that you can search Flickr for our photographs.
Searching Flickr for photographs of 'Knowsley' will not justy bring
back our pictures, but any others tagged with that term.
Using Flickr, you may discover photographs which give you a new
perspective on the borough!
