Pedestrian Strategy
Improving travel for pedestrians is a key part of Knowsley
Council's transport plans.
A Merseyside Pedestrian Strategy has been developed to supplement
the second Local
Transport Plan for Merseyside. The strategy sets out
Merseyside’s policy towards encouraging walking and pedestrian
improvements and has been developed in line with Government policy
to achieve an overall sustainable transport strategy.
Increasing the levels of walking in Knowsley will be achieved
through reducing traffic speeds in certain areas, improving the
local environment, providing training and promoting the associated
health benefits of walking.
