Local Transport Plan
The transportation strategy for Knowsley is set out in the
5-year Local Transport Plan (LTP) for Merseyside. This is a joint
plan for Merseyside, required by Central Government, and produced
in cooperation with the other transport authorities.
The Local Transport Plan describes the positive steps that we
will take to improve transport choices for everyone in the area.
It is to ensure that the transport network such as roads,
buses, trains, pavements and cycleways, will meet the travel
demands of everyone living orworking in or visiting
Merseyside.
The second LTP for Merseyside covers the period 2006 to
2011. It is a long term strategy with a £230m
delivery programme of transport investment and service
improvements.
