Anyone who lives, works or cycles in Knowsley is welcome to attend this quarterly meeting, at which there will be an opportunity to share cycling news, information and issues.

Cycle routes in Knowsley

Trans Pennine Trail

The trail passes through Halewood, running over the former Liverpool Loop Lane, and through Halewood Park for approximately 2.3km. This section of the trail provides an ideal opportunity for families to cycle together and enjoy the facilities which the park has to offer.

The trail continues through Higher Road, Blackburne Drive, Dista Field then South Road where it then passes into Liverpool.

Off road cycle routes

The are a number of parks in Knowsley where cyclists are welcome. Halewood Park and Stadt Moers Park contain the most suitable provision for cyclists with acres of land, woodland and pond habitats. Other off road cycle routes include:

  • Carr Lane, Prescot
  • Valley Road, Kirkby
  • Arbour Lane, Kirkby
  • Moss Lane, Kirkby
  • King George Playing Fields, Huyton

Pedal Away

Pedal Away offers you the opportunity to participate in a new and exciting cycle ride project that is available across the borough of Knowsley.  The latest Pedal Away calendar can be downloaded below.

The cycle rides are aimed at adults who are looking to introduce cycling as a new activity although children and young people are welcome as long as they are supervised by a responsible adult.

All of the rides will be delivered by qualified members of staff who are there to ensure your ride is as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Pedal Away can also loan you a bike and cycle helmet for the duration of each cycle ride subject to booking and availability.

Cycle parking 

In order to improve accessibility and encourage cycle use we have a number of cycle parking facilities across the borough.
