Highways fees and charges

There are a number of fees and charges for a variety of highways items. The majority of these fees will be charged to developers and businesses and a small number are relevant for residents. These fees apply from 1 September 2009.

Section 38 Agreement Inspection Fee (Highways Act 1980), relating to the construction of new highways
7.5% of the estimated value of the works (minimum fee of £750)
Section 278 Agreement Inspection Fee (Highways Act 1980), relating to highway improvement schemes
7.5% of the estimated value of the works

£100 (Markings will be provided free of charge to those with a disability)
Provision of Rights of Way (ROW) Information £30 (Excl. VAT)

Tourism Signage Full cost of signage, together with the future maintenance of these signs. Non-refundable initial charge of £100 to be requested with each application to cover the cost of the assessment of the application by the Council.
