What is the risk?
Flooding from watercourses and severe weather events can cause
significant disruption. Although we are fortunate in
Knowsley that most areas are not directly at risk from flooding
from watercourses, some areas are at risk. You can quickly
check whether your home or business is at risk by visiting the
Environment Agency website and simply entering your
postcode. Even if your home or business is not at risk from
watercourse flooding, severe weather events can affect almost any
area. Extreme rainfall can cause groundwater to rise which
means that, in the worst case, surface water flooding could be
equally as damaging and disruptive.
