NHS flu line has been switched off

30 April 2009

The National Pandemic Flu Service has closed down after a drop in cases.

Following recent low levels of swine flu in the community, the Department of Health advised that the National Pandemic Flu Service, launched to allow people to be assessed if they thought they had swine flu symptoms, has closed down as at 1am on Thursday, 11 February.

If you have flu-like symptoms stay at home and phone your GP practice for an assessment.

You will still be able to send a friend to pick up Tamiflu from anti viral collection points.

The swine flu information line, featuring a number of recorded messages, will continue to operate on 0800 1 513 513.
