Sokolow's Sausage Products Recalled
29 October 2010
Some batches of Sokolów's Home Black Pudding Sausage and Grill
Black Pudding Sausage have been recalled from sale because they are
contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The Food Standards Agency
has issued a Food Alert for Action asking local authorities to make
sure that these products are withdrawn from sale and recalled from
consumers. Listeria is a food poisoning bug that can cause serious
illness.
On 26 October, the Agency issued a Product Recall Information
Notice advising that all batches of Sokolów Home Black Pudding
Sausage and Sokolów Grill Black Pudding Sausage distributed by
three wholesalers in the Doncaster area, and one wholesaler in the
London area, had been recalled from customers because the products
were contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. After further
investigations, other wholesalers have been found to be
distributing the products contaminated with Listeria
monocytogenes.
The notice issued on 26 October can be found at the link
below.
Retailers of the product must remove the product from sale and
make arrangements to return it to their supplier. Product recall
notices should be displayed advising members of the public that
they can return the products listed below from where they bought
them and get a full refund.
