Knowsley Open Art Exhibition 2011

It’s that time of the year again within Knowsley's creative calendar, where we invite artists, students and individuals with artistic flair, to pick up those paintbrushes, pencils and cameras and show off your talent in the annual Open Art Exhibition.
Knowsley Arts and Heritage Service would like to invite local artists of all ages and abilities to submit their artwork for this prestigious exhibition held at Kirkby Gallery from the 24 October 2011 – 5 January 2012.

This year we are introducing a ‘Schools Open’ which will present the work of Knowsley Primary School pupils in Kirkby Foyer gallery. We are also exhibiting the Young Artists Open exhibition in the ‘StART Space Gallery’ in the mezzanine area of Kirkby Library, specifically dedicated to talented young artists between the ages of 11 – 17 years.

Visitors can vote for their favourite piece of art from the Knowsley Open exhibition in the main gallery and also for their favourite artwork from the Young Artists Open, as part of the ‘Visitors Choice’ competition. Prizes for the best pieces include:

  • Knowsley Open - 1st prize: £100, 2nd prize: £50, 3rd prize: £25
  • Young Artists Open - 1st prize: £30, 2nd prize: £20, 3rd prize: £10
  • All prizes awarded will be in the form of vouchers for Rennies art shop.
  • Whether your speciality is photography, oil painting or another 2D visual art – anything goes! So be sure you enter today!

The deadline for applications is Friday 30 September.
