Consultation on future development comes to a close
6 September 2011
A consultation on possible future development in Knowsley has
closed with hundreds of local people having had their say.
For the past 10 weeks the council has been gathering views on
its proposed Local Development Framework, which will shape the way
Knowsley develops to 2027 and beyond, including more than 7,000
potential new homes and increasing employment opportunities for
local people.
The council is now looking through all the responses received
during the 10 week consultation, and will publish a report on the
findings in the next few months.
The consultation findings, along with other factors such as
Government requirements, will inform the next stage, during which a
final Core Strategy will be developed.
Cllr Dave Lonergan, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and
Skills, said: “Thanks to everyone who took the time to look over
these proposals and make their comments.
“Each and every comment received will be reviewed and taken into
account in the next stage of this important process.”
