‘Give school
attendance 100%’ – that’s the latest message from Knowsley
Council.
This latest campaign aims to inform children
and parents of the importance of attending school regularly and
punctually – all of the time.
In today’s tough jobs market, missing school
puts young people at an instant disadvantage.
Regular school attendance shows a potential
employer that a child is reliable. It also leads to better
achievement and self confidence.
Taking time off school for reasons such as
oversleeping, visiting relatives or celebrating a birthday is
unacceptable and will be recorded as unauthorised absence.
As part of the council’s latest attendance
campaign, parents are being advised to avoid taking holidays and
booking medical or dental appointments during term time.
