Library fines and charges

Late return of books and spoken word
The following fines apply unless you meet the exception
criteria:
- 12p per day for the first five days or 6p with a leisure
pass.
- 16p after the first five days or 8p with a leisure pass.
Reservation charges
You can reserve any item, except for reference materials, and we
will inform you when your request is ready for collection.
The following charges apply when reserving items unless you meet
the exception criteria:
- Charge for books, spoken word and DVDs for Knowsley residents
65p.
- Charge for books, spoken word and DVDs for non-residents
70p.
- Charge for students and leisure pass holders 30p.
- Charge for books obtained from other authorities £5.
Exception criteria
- under 18 or over 60
- Housebound
- Disabled or visually impaired
- A tutor
- Mobile library user
Replacement ticket charge
If you lose your library ticket the following charges apply:
- Adult 65p (£1 for further loss or 30p or 50p for further loss
with leisure pass).
- Child 35p (50p for further loss or 15p or 30p for further loss
with leisure pass).
Lost stock sales
If you lose a book or spoken word you will be charged for the
full price cost if it is up to 2 years old. If older than 2 years,
a sliding scale charge will apply.
