Library fines and service charges
Late return of items
The following fines apply unless you meet the exception
criteria:
- 12p per day for the first five days.
- 16p per day after the first five days.
(Maximum charge of £1 per item.)

- Under 18s
- 60+
- Home delivery service users
- People with disabilities
- Mobile library users
Reservation charges
You can reserve any item, except for reference materials, and we
will inform you when your request is ready for collection.
The following charges apply when reserving items unless you meet
the exception criteria:
- Charge for books, spoken word and DVDs for Knowsley residents:
65p.
- Charge for books, spoken word and DVDs for non-residents:
70p.
- Charge for over 60s: 30p.
- Charge for books obtained from other authorities: £5
(£2.50 if 60-plus).

Replacement ticket charge
If you lose your library ticket the following charges apply:
- Adult 65p (£1 for further loss).
- Child 35p (50p for further loss).
Lost stock charges
If you lose a book or spoken word you will be charged for the
full price cost if it is up to two years old. If older
than two years, a sliding scale charge will apply.
