Rubbish and waste
The council collects over 1000 tonnes of
household waste
each week, most of which ends up on landfill sites. Landfill sites
are getting full and are not environmentally friendly in the long
term.
You can do your bit to reduce the amount of
waste by recycling.
In addition to the weekly household and food
waste collection and fortnightly collection of your recycling bins, we also
provide a service to collect any bulky items or hazardous waste that you need to dispose
of. We also provide a clinical waste collection service for clinics,
doctors and dentists.
Knowsley, alongside the other Merseyside
councils, works in partnership with Merseyside Waste Disposal
Authority to develop a
Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy (JMWMS).

Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste and is a crime.
