Environmental health

It is important to preserve a clean and safe environment in which to live and work and we should all do our bit to protect the environment.

The council is responsible for tackling a number of environmental health issues in Knowsley:

• We ensure that food establishments meet food safety regulations and standards.
• We look after animal health and welfare and are responsible for the licensing of animal establishments.
• We operate a pest control service for residents and businesses.
• We deal with pollution issues, including noise pollution.
• We provide information about dangerous dogs and how to report a stray dog.
• We provide information about enviromental pollution
• We give advice and information on how to tackle asbestos
• We allow for dog waste to be disposed of easily
• We operate dog control orders
• We look after Knowsley's streets
• We are responsible for fly-tipping enforcement action
