Bands and charges
Every home has to be placed in one of the
bands below for council tax purposes. Your band is calculated based
on what your property was worth on 1 April 1991, not what it would
be worth today.
- Band A – Up to and including £40,000
- Band B - £40,001 - £52,000
- Band C - £52,001 - £68,000
- Band D - £68,001 - £88,000
- Band E - £88,001 - £120,000
- Band F - £120,001 - £160,000
- Band G - £160,001 - £320,000
- Band H – More than £320,000
If you are not sure which band you are in, you
can search the Valuation Office
Agency’s valuation list by entering your postcode or use the
council’s ‘Find my nearest’ search to view details about your
property.
If you think you are in the
wrong band you can appeal by contacting the Valuation Office
Agency.
If you disagree with the valuation band your
property is in there are limited rights of appeal. You should
