Planning appeals
You can appeal against decisions made by the council if you
consider the refusal or conditions imposed are unreasonable, or if
a determination has not been made within a statutory 8 week time
period (set by Government). You can also appeal against an
enforcement notice issue.
How to appeal
Appeals should be made to the Department for Communities and
Local Government and can take the form of:
- A written representation
- A public inquiry
- An informal hearing
You can
submit an appeal online on the Planning Portal.
You can obtain appeal forms from The
Planning Inspectorate.
Costs can be awarded against either party if they are deemed to
have acted unreasonably when the appeal is heard at a Public
Inquiry or Informal Hearing.
