LDF schedule and progress
Local Development Scheme
As part of the Local Development Framework (LDF), the council
must prepare a Local Development Scheme (LDS), which sets out the
schedule for LDF preparation. The LDS has the following roles:
- It provides a starting point for the people of Knowsley to find
out about the planning policies for the borough and how they can
get involved in the process
- It sets out what Development Plan Documents (DPDs) we will
produce as part of the LDF and when
- It sets a timetable for the review of the DPDs once they have
been prepared
The council published a third revision to the LDS for
Knowsley in January 2012.
An updated timetable for the Joint Merseyside and Halton Waste

Local Development Framework progress
In order to provide more regular updates to the schedule for LDF
preparation, the following “live” table may be helpful. This
provides updates on both the preparation of Local Development
Documents as well as evidence base studies and reports.
